Open Data Portal

On the initiation of National Planning Commission and Kathmandu Living Lab in support of DFID’s Evidence for Development Programme, ‘2015 NEPAL EARTHQUAKE: OPEN DATA PORTAL’ has been launched to open the data, collected by the Government through a massive household survey using mobile technology to assess building damage in the earthquake-affected districts, to the public. The survey was conducted contacting nearly 3.7 million people of 11 most affected districts. The survey was conducted to identify beneficiaries eligible for government assistance for housing reconstruction. At the same time, it also collected other useful socio-economic information and those data serve a wide range of uses and users such as researchers, newly formed local governments, and citizens at large.
