  • More than 1 lakh beneficiaries receive reconstruction grant through their bank accounts
    For the purpose of reconstruction of houses damaged by Nepal Earthquake 2015, GoN has deposited first tranche of reconstruction grant in bank accounts of more than 100,000 beneficiaries.

  • NRA unveils special One-Month Campaign
    In the conference that was hosted at NRA premises situated in Singhadurbar, NRA CEO Sushil Gyawali stated that the first tranche of reconstruction grant will be availed as per the working plan of NRA and directives of Government of Nepal (GoN). Further, he stated that, for the purpose of completing this campaign by the stipulated time-frame, provisions have been made to work extra hours (in mornings, evenings and during public holidays).

  • 31,086 households surveyed in Kathmandu valley
    For the purpose of valley-wide survey, in Kathmandu valley, 389 teams of engineers have been mobilised. For improving the quality of the survey, senior engineers have also been mobilized to supervise the survey teams at the ratio of 1 senior engineer per 10 teams of engineers.

  • Training organised for engineers to conduct damage survey in Kathmandu valley
    422 engineers have been trained since Wednesday (13 Jul 2016). Previously, 70 engineers have already received the stated training. Post the training which will be conducted for 5 days, trained engineers will be deployed for carrying out the survey (Central Bureau of Statistics – CBS).

  • Agreement between National Reconstruction Authority and Banks and Financial Institutions
    The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has signed a pact with 29 Banks and Financial Institutions (BFIs) to distribute relief funds to earthquake victims in the most-affected districts. The 29 BFIs, who signed the agreement with the NRA on 30 May, include 20 commercial banks, eight development banks and a finance company. On 27 May 2016, the agreement was signed between NRA and the Bankers’ Association: Nepal Bankers Association, Development Bankers Association Nepal and Nepal Financial Institution Association.

  • Pilot training on Social Mobilizer Training Package in Dhading (27-29 April 2016)
    NRA has provided three resource persons/trainers and contributed throughout the 3-day package on other modules as well. NRA felt a need for a ToT (Training of Trainers) on this package for the roll-out of the training. Two NRA executive members (Dr. Bishnu Bhandari and Dr. Hari Ram Parajuli) participated as observers in the training and answered participants’ queries and received their feedback.

  • Workshop on Security of Tenure and Access to Land for Housing and Resettlement
    National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has considered access to land as an important and urgent issue for successful housing reconstruction. This has been reflected in series of steps that NRA has taken till now. The data/information on access to land is incorporated in the damage assessment being carried out by CBS for determining eligible beneficiaries for grant subsidy.
